Launch your career in Legal Finance & Business Management to support Firmwide Legal Outside Counsel expense thorough providing financial, analytical and payment oversight to the Legal Organization.
As a Legal Expense - Finance Analyst you will be responsible for firmwide outside counsel Legal Expense where you will be expected to deliver value-added financial reporting and analysis, manage payments through robust governance processes and procedures, and assist with strategic direction and decision making. You will be expected to build effective relationships with the senior Legal Finance teams, Legal Management team and interact regularly to actively contribute ideas with the peers across Legal, Finance & Business Management and the business globally.
Job responsibilities
- Understanding of External Spend financial / pipeline data and review of underlying information on a periodic basis, in collaboration with functional partners such as Global Supplier Services
- Become the subject matter expert of external spend regarding regional nuances as well as specific line of business processes
- Contribute to key Legal projects, including strategic, control, technology, and expense related initiatives
- Assistance with providing guidance on process improvements, including technology enhancements relating to Legal Finance tools
- Lead and/or assist with projects related to expense and Legal Finance technology initiatives across Legal.
- Manage and complete ad hoc financial analysis and provide answers to management queries, when necessary
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience working in financial services
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
- Strong skills in time management, problem solving, analytical skills and detail oriented
- Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines and able to work with high degree of independence
- Integrity in handling highly sensitive and confidential information
Preferred Qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Business management and/or finance experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience interacting with core accounting and MIS reporting architecture; SAP and Hyperion Essbase are both strongly preferred
