1WorldSync is the industry leader in product content management. With approximately 600 employees across the US, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, and the UK, we're seeking a Legal Counsel to support our growing global team.
Reporting directly to our General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal support for all of 1WorldSync's businesses in the Americas, Europe, and Asia and Latin America This position will supervise legal and contract assistants supporting a growing sales team.
As Legal Counsel at 1WorldSync, responsibilities include the following:
- Commercial contract work (e.g., draft, review and analyze agreements and other legal documents, support contract negotiations, draft and enhance contract templates, and advise on interpretation of existing agreements)
- Legal support for business on marketing and new product initiatives (e.g., review of product literature, press releases, and website disclosures)
- Support management and the General Counsel in identifying and effectively managing legal risks
- Monitor relevant legislative developments at the domestic and international level
- Report matters which bear a significant regulatory, financial, or brand risk to management and the General Counsel
- Coordinate work with outside counsel to obtain expert legal advice on a cost-effective basis
- Prepare and deliver legal-based training to employees, as appropriate
- Oversee input of relevant information into electronic contracts database, consistent with applicable document retention and other corporate policies
- Participate as a representative of the legal function in business and strategy meetings
- Orchestrate logistics, assist with agenda preparation, gather relevant information and prepare presentation materials for legal meetings
- Generate and deliver various reports for internal, external, and executive reporting on legal matters
Required Skills and Experience:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-approved law school
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience in the corporate department of an international law firm or in an international corporation
- 2+ years experience in a SaaS industry
- Member of a state bar in the United States
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Ironclad or other CLM systems, NetSuite, and Google Workspace
- Skilled at effective multitasking; able to manage and prioritize a wide variety of matters from various sources to high levels of client satisfaction
- Ability to respond under time pressure to business issues with executable solutions clearly linked to business objectives
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing; able to communicate clearly, concisely, effectively and persuasively with internal and external clients and management
- Process-management skills; ability to help identify and implement improvements in work process to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Adaptability; a team player who is able and willing to work both as part of a (cross- functional) team and independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to learn and continue to expand legal knowledge and skills
- Knowledge of Data Privacy Law a plus
- Attention to detail
- Strategic thinker with good business understanding and analytical skills
- Prepared to take the lead and make appropriate recommendations to management and others
- Exhibits credibility and presence in discussions and meetings with management and in supervisory activities

Additional Details:
- This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days per week at our Chicago headquarters location.
- This role requires the candidate to have the authority to work in, and be located in the US.
- This position requires up to 5% travel.
