About the School of Literature, Media and Communications (LMC) at the Georgia Institute of Technology

The School of Literature, Media, and Communication is a multi-disciplinary program. It offers degrees in Literature, Media, and Communication, and in Computational Media, M.S. degrees in Digital Media, Human-Computer Interaction, as well as a Ph.D. in Digital Media. Film and media courses are taught across these and adjourning programs and attract a wide range of students. The School includes the Writing and Communication Program, the Brittain Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, the Institute's Communication Center (CommLab), and provides discipline-specific courses and communication support for campus-wide audiences. LMC's Film Production curriculum includes video production, advanced video production, documentary Film Production, intro to post-production, and advanced post-production. It has a dedicated post-production lab with access to the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and DaVinci Resolve software. It is also home to LMCFilms, a production lab that empowers students across the LMC curriculum with industry-standard film tools and best collaborative practices to nurture a sophisticated visual aesthetic and prepare them for success in the Georgia film industry. Atlanta, GA

The School of Literature, Media, and Communication (https://www.lmc.gatech.edu) of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, Georgia) seeks to fill a Lecturer (non-tenure-track) position in Post-Production and Visual Effects to teach core courses in our undergraduate degree programs. We seek a student-centered educator who prioritizes student success and integrates real-world industry practices into their teaching.

The successful candidate is expected to:

• Teach undergraduate courses in the following subject areas: Post-Production, Advanced Post-Production, Video Production, and Advanced Video Production. The typical teaching load is 3/3 in the fall and spring semesters.
• Organize and coordinate interactive content and immersive pedagogical strategies across the sequence of these courses within the undergraduate curriculum.
• Develop outward facing initiatives that spotlight student success and increase the film program's visibility.
• Maintain a creative agenda and incorporate new knowledge into courses for continuous innovation.
• Participate in related service to the school, college, and Institute.

Graduate degree, in Film Production or related discipline

• MFA or PhD, in Film Production or related area
• Willingness to design new Film Production course offerings
• Higher Ed teaching experience and industry experience in Post-Production and/or Visual Effects.
• A record of creative work in Film, television, and/or media
• Experience integrating and designing hands-on approaches to learning current post-production workflows and industry standard, non-linear editing software
• Evidence of proficiency and creative mastery in the field of filmmaking, with a specialization in post-production and visual effects
