About the Department
The largest department in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, English offers a range of undergraduate majors and concentrations, minors, and graduate programs. We also offer many courses of interest to the University community as a whole, and we work with other departments and programs - such as Foreign Languages and Literatures, Women's Studies, Communication, Education - to furnish multidisciplinary opportunities for NC State students.
Essential Job Duties
The Department of English is accepting applications for the position of Lecturer on a full-time and/or part-time basis in areas such as Composition, Literature, Linguistics, Film and Screenwriting, Creative Writing and Professional Writing for Summer 2022, Fall 2022 and Spring 2023. These positions are short term, Professional Track Faculty appointments.
Candidates will be hired as Lecturer based on credentials and qualifications.
Other Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned by the department head.
Qualifications
State Minimum Education and Experience
A Master's degree in a relevant field and experience teaching writing at the college level are required.
Degree must be obtained prior to start date.
Other Required Qualifications

• A demonstrated commitment to excellent in teaching.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Special training or experience with online or blended instruction is desirable.
• Graduate coursework in writing pedagogy preferred.
