An Addison Group client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Leave of Absence Specialist to join their Human Resources team. The Leave of Absence Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and administering all aspects of employee leaves, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies. This position requires a thorough understanding of leave regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide support to employees and managers throughout the leave process.

Job Title: Leave of Absence Specialist

Location: Scottsdale Arizona

Compensation: $30 - $40 hourly

Responsibilities:

  1. Leave Administration:
  • Manage the end-to-end leave process, including requests, approvals, and documentation for various types of leaves, such as medical, family, personal, and military leaves.
    • Stay updated on federal, state, and local leave regulations and ensure company policies align with legal requirements.
  1. Communication and Guidance:
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave-related inquiries.
    • Communicate effectively with employees to explain leave policies, procedures, and entitlements.
  1. Documentation and Recordkeeping:
  • Maintain accurate and confidential leave records for all employees.
    • Ensure timely and proper completion of required documentation, including medical certifications and other relevant forms.
  1. Collaboration with HR and Management:
  • Collaborate with HR partners and management to provide guidance on leave-related matters.
    • Work closely with payroll to ensure accurate processing of leave-related adjustments.
  1. Accommodation Coordination:
  • Collaborate with employees and managers to explore and implement reasonable accommodations during leave periods.
    • Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable laws.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Leave of Absence Specialist or in a similar HR role.
  3. In-depth knowledge of federal and state leave laws, including FMLA and ADA.
  4. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  7. Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant software.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Certification in HR or related field (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
  2. Familiarity with leave management software.
  3. Experience in handling complex leave scenarios and accommodations.
