Automation Personnel Services is looking for a knowledgeable and reliable Human Resources Assistant for an 8-10 week temporary project. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert for all employee leave and workers’ compensation claims for a well-respected automotive supplier in Huntsville. This position is a fill-in role for an employee currently on leave, but could lead to permanent employment once the temporary assignment ends. We are seeking someone with excellent communication and analytical skills and is able to adapt between an office setting and an industrial environment.
Pay Rate
$20.00-25.00 per hour depending on experience
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 8 00 am to 4:45 pm.
Human Resources Duties and Responsibilities
• Managing employee leave programs and policies in compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws.
• Ensuring workers’ compensation programs are managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers’ compensation laws.
• Conducting and/or coordinating investigations into workers’ compensation claims as needed.
• Maintaining and administering all aspects of leave and workers’ compensation claims and working with payroll to ensure pay for team members is accurate.
• Producing reports, managing STD/LTD requests, and other related duties.
Human Resource Qualifications and Requirements
• Associates degree in business administration or human resources and/or at least 2 years of related experience required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in human resources, Leave Management, workers’ compensation, and team member relations required.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to work for extended periods of time in multiple environments, such as sitting and computer use and standing on the plant floor.
