We are seeking a detail and task-oriented individual with strong communication skills to fill an entry-level position in our Somerville, Massachusetts headquarters. The candidate would be joining an eclectic team of Leasing and Property management professionals, providing support to both their in-office and out-of-office efforts. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable Leasing and Property management experience, learn about our local real estate markets, and develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a professional capacity.
Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· Providing excellent service to RCG’s customers
· Screening, scheduling and showing prospective tenants’ apartments
· Coordinating apartment showings with third party real estate brokers
· Processing rental applications
· Collecting outstanding rents
· Reviewing, coding, and entering property expense invoices in RCG’s property management system
· Photo documenting utility readings and Property conditions
· Supporting RCG’s Leasing and Administrative group and RCG’s Property Management group in all aspects of property and project management
While formal education/training and/or similar experience is a plus, it is not required. We prioritize intelligence, reliability, and affability. We aim to find strong learners that communicate effectively and strive to demonstrate a mastery over their job functions.
Must haves:
· Must have reliable transportation with the ability to drive in New England winter conditions
· Must be able to work some weekends during the spring and summer
· Must be available on and around September 1st each year
· Must be available to participate in RCG’s afterhours emergency on-call rotation
· Must have strong written and verbal communication skills – a writing sample will be required
· Must have experience or training using MS Office
· Must have reasonable technical capabilities (e.g., taking and transferring digital photos, learning varied software applications)
· Must be capable of navigating in and around buildings including basements, attics, occupied, and vacant spaces.
This is a full-time position that is paid hourly. Candidate is expected to work 9am-6pm during the week (weekend hours vary but tend to be shorter) or until job responsibilities are completed. We are offering a starting hourly rate of $25.00/hour - $28.00/hour commensurate with experience. We pay an additional $40/month for smart phone reimbursement (assuming applicant takes photos and receives emails, calls, texts on personal cell phone) and offer partial mileage reimbursement (does not include commuting mileage). The current rate is $.67/mile. We also contribute towards health insurance if you enroll in the plans offered by RCG. Current company contribution is $8,800, which is subject to change. New employees are given 16 paid days off pro-rated based on their date of hire, with an additional day awarded annually up to a maximum of 22 days. These are separate from the company holidays of which there are 11 in 2024.
