Job description

The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the assignment, tracking, and reporting of all training and assignments and the overall maintenance and auditing of training data across the organization. Program management, coordination, and producer support for instructor-led (ILT) and virtual (VILT) training program delivery. Communication and coordination with external vendors and training partners. Deployment and tracking of compliance, onboarding, new hire, and other training with required completion dates and specified reporting requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer learning and development systems, including the LMS and other training platforms. This will involve creating user accounts, managing user data, user support, assigning training, tracking progress, and generating reports.
  • Assign training, report on completion status, audit learning records, know our offerings, and be able to map recommendations in support of IDPs and the upskilling of Climate Pros employees.
  • Create and send surveys regularly (pre-training, post-training, etc.).
  • Training Program Coordination (planning, scheduling, logistics, and coordination of face-to-face training) for programs delivered at Climate Pros offices and at external venues.
  • Tracks and analyzes training programs by examining learners' satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance. Provides instruction and guidance to trainers.
  • Pull reports and provide data for internal and external auditing.
  • Provide ongoing employee training and support regarding using our Learning Management Solution (LMS) and our Document Management and Performance Support system.
  • Collaborate with others to develop effective program evaluations and measurement tools.
  • Leverage LMS capabilities to build out role-based curriculums and training success tracks.
  • Use of multiple data sources to ID target audiences.
  • Participate in identifying and selecting appropriate learning and development technologies to support the organization's training initiatives.
  • Able to conduct multiple concurrent tasks through effective communication, organization, and time management.
  • Research, tests, and compares new technology, tools, and working methods that support the development and deployment of training programs.
  • Actively participate in social learning and other training-related platforms
    (e.g., wikis) within the organization.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time (as needed to support training program management).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills, Certifications, and Education:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail. Ability to proofread materials written by others.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.
  • Ability to write, capture, and illustrate procedures supporting continuous improvement.
  • Ability to effectively present business information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and others.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in HR systems, Education, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, HRIS systems, related field, or applicable combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in LMS administration, including scheduling, reporting, systems administration, reporting, analysis, and the use of data to make recommendations on how to improve programs.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in HR, corporate training, and/or program management.
  • Familiarity with internal and external policy and process auditing
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Pivot Tables, Lookups (H,V,X) macro creation, report generation, and visualization (charting and graphing)
  • Team Player, willing to jump in and help where and when needed across the L&D function.
  • Demonstrated experience with software and technologies, including Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Passion for technology used in training delivery, data collection, reporting, and analytics.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Experience with program accreditation process a plus.
  • Experience with grant tracking and applications a plus.
  • Experience with Acadia and/or Brainier a plus.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds; noise level is usually moderate. All employees may be required to visit a customer site and complete a ride along with a field technician.
