Position Title: Learning & Development Instructor

REPORTS TO: Learning & Development Manager

SUPERVISES: N/A

JOB STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB GRADE 9: $20.77- $25.97 Targeted Hourly Rate


JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Learning & Development Manager, the Learning & Development Instructor conducts classroom, virtual, and e-Learning trainings covering a broad range of topics for all staff of the credit union. The Learning & Development Instructor analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates the credit union's training programs. General duties include conducting needs assessments, delivering training, developing training measures, and evaluating training efficacy and efficiency. Key competencies include designing and delivering training to adult learners, overseeing all aspects of a training program or course/class, objectively measuring and evaluating the results of training, and effectively working with other credit union staff and departments.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Create and maintain a positive and professional learning environment.
  • Must be a leader (both formal and informal) that sets the standard and expectations by example in their conduct, work ethic, integrity, and character.
  • Able to deliver and motivate trainees through effective training methodologies, both in group and individual classroom dynamics, as well as inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Manage the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs as well as ongoing learning opportunities across the organization, and in support of the organization's needs.
  • Utilize a variety of training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs.
  • Conduct specific training needs assessments to support the design, development, and implementation of training programs and strategies.
  • Partner with individual departments to outline deliverables, expectations, and risks, to include specific training needs for staff.
  • Proactively work with the management team to identify and resolve issues.
  • Create high quality training within budget constraints and assigned deadlines.
  • Effectively manage and facilitate all assigned training programs and willing to assist with any program to meet the mission of the Learning & Development department.
  • Understand financial services compliance requirements as they relate to training, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and its major components (Privacy Act, Patriot Act, etc.).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and deliver training programs utilizing skills in instructional design, program design & Development, and training methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Superior organizational skills, high attention to detail and work quality, and superior member service skills.
  • Experienced with some combination of: operating a learning management system (LMS), building and delivering e-learning and other virtual content, and/or experience using content creation and delivery software (e.g. Zoom, RISE, Storyline, Articulate, or similar).
  • Job Related Travel - As required; occasional need to travel in support of job deliverables.

Education/Experience:


  • Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in related field, in addition to at least 1 year of relevant job experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
