Job Description:
This person is a key member of the corporate Learning and Development team responsible for oversight and administration of a variety programs, the supporting resources, and process improvements. This person will develop, create, and deliver personal professional development courses and work closely with program owners and other stakeholders to consult and support their planning and delivery of engaging learning programs.
Responsibilities include:
Learning content creation, design, and delivery
Support the Learning and Development Manager with conducting needs or gap analysis to determine future courses and programs to develop
Research designated topics to curate content and concepts for classes and programs
Create and design course content, materials, presentations, facilitation guides, and other training resources
Incorporate adult learning principles into courses to increase value and effectiveness
Effectively deliver designated course content
Consulting and supporting program owners
Partner with program owners and stakeholders to evaluate and analyze course feedback and brainstorm options for virtual instructor-led training, in-person training, and hybrid training course improvements
Advise on how to incorporate adult learning principles into courses to increase the value and effectiveness of courses
Consult with program owners and other stakeholders on learning needs to determine best delivery method for their topics and audience
Provide support and consultation to program owners on creation of course materials, presentations, facilitator guides, and other supplemental training materials
Program administration and reporting
Oversee Barr’s Focus Feedback program communications, system training resources, reporting requests, and provide routine support to staff
Oversee Barr’s individual education account (IEA) by responding to IEA inquiries, reviewing the quarterly overage reporting, and regular budget monitoring
Assist with Barr’s mentoring program administration
Support the Learning and Development Manager with cohort program and assessment administration
Research, continuous improvement, and department support
Create communications to advertise various learning opportunities
Understand and educate program owners on new trends or topics for them to use to support ongoing improvement of learning programs
Update and refresh Learning and Development related content on our various company SharePoint sites
Serve as back-up to Human Resources Assistant as producer for virtual instructor-led programs
Create and updates accurate practice documentation for key processes, as prioritized
Bachelor’s degree in training, organizational development, education, or a related field of study
Four years of experience related to the role
Experience incorporating adult learning principles into program design and delivery
Experience facilitating and delivering training classes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience providing proactive, high-quality service to internal and external clients
Strong team mentality with a willingness to assist where needed to contribute to the group’s success
Solid critical thinking skills and ability to bring forward situationally appropriate solutions to challenges
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to self-direct, prioritize and negotiate multiple responsibilities and client requests, completing tasks with minimal supervision
Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to modify plans to meet deadlines and client needs
Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Minneapolis or Duluth, Minnesota, offices.
