The Assistant Director of Leadership Giving (Leadership Giving Officer) plays a critical role in LMU's effort to deepen its relationship with alumni and parents to secure financial support for its funding priorities. Working in close collaboration with colleagues across campus, the Leadership Giving team are vital relationship builders and develop a robust pipeline of philanthropic leaders. This position operates as a partner within the office of Leadership Giving (LG) and will share experience and energy as a vital team member. This opportunity offers close collaboration with Alumni and Family Engagement to bolster reunion giving engagement and to be an asset for Special Events, Annual Giving, and Major/Principal Giving, and Planned Giving.

Position Specific Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to facilitate and empower the philanthropic decisions of priority alumni and friends of the University. Through virtual and face-to-face engagement, secure funding for critical University priorities and unrestricted needs. Position may require local travel to bolster volunteer recruitment and fundraising success. (40%)
- Contribute strategies for broad philanthropic engagement initiatives and support fellow Leadership Giving colleagues with Leadership Giving ($1,000+) multi-channel outreach campaigns (25%)
- Partner with academic department leaders and fellow advancement professionals to develop, execute, and reach fundraising goals strategies for schools, departments, and alumni class or affinity groups. (20%)
- In collaboration with LG Leadership, report, analyze, and project results; and revise strategies as necessary in order to accomplish goals. (10%)

Experience/ Qualifications
- Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
- Minimum of two years of related professional experience which includes direct development, fundraising and/or transferrable professional skills that includes sales and/or developing relationships with volunteers and/or high net worth clients or customers.
- Demonstrated interest in personal solicitation of philanthropic gifts, and experience in direct sales, fundraising, or recruitment.
- Demonstrated technical competency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and preferably have knowledge of Advance or other comparable fundraising or CRM systems. Virtual Engagement methods such as Phone, Text, Email, and Social Media.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to higher education and ability to articulate a compelling case for support of Loyola Marymount University.
- Knowledge of Loyola Marymount University and its mission.
- Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.

Reasonable Expected Salary:
$66,560 - $68,000 Salary offer commensurate with education and experience.
