Job description

Position Title:Lead Warehouse Associate (Naples)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time

Immediate Supervisor: Warehouse Manager

Position Summary: The Lead Warehouse Associate is a working role and expected to know all HCFB warehouse functions and should be able to work effectively and accurately in any job in the warehouse, having demonstrated all the skills and attributes. In addition, the Lead Warehouse Associate is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager with training / re-training staff in the proper, safe, and efficient execution of their jobs, and for coordinating daily work goals assigned by Warehouse Management. The Lead Warehouse Associate will provide coverage during any absence of the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Coordinate the flow of product for kit building, by assisting Warehouse Associate pulling orders, staging of product, and keeping proper inventory on the floor to ensure efficiency.

· Coordinate with Transportation and Food Sourcing Managers to ensure produce is available for volunteers to sort.

· Coordinate with program coordinators and volunteer department for all kitting projects to ensure we have ample stock and ensure all products are staged and ready for shipping.

· Collaborate with the Volunteer Department as needed to assure HCFB volunteer sorting activities are rewarding as well as effective and efficient.

· Monitor and ensure integrity of products and food safety standards are met. Ensure all perishable products are inspected for quality and are properly rotated and stored under correct conditions.

· Review receiving documentation regularly to ensure proper receiving procedures. Ensure receiving logs are properly recorded and maintained.

  • Ensuring that everyone is operating safely, knowing all safety rules and regulations in detail, and demonstrating your knowledge through leadership and by example.
  • Assist with inventory management, inventory control standards, and procedures including cycle counts, FIFO, record keeping and other standard operational and work processes as necessary.
  • Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks and other equipment to safely move products to proper locations and load and unload trucks as necessary.
  • Oversee the receipt of inbound and outbound product and materials which includes completion of all documentation in accordance with the standard operation procedures.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicating in a manner so that appropriate with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Assist in housekeeping procedures to ensure they are being completed on a daily and weekly basis following AIB and Feeding America guidelines.
  • Comply with all safety and pest control regulations and assist with enforcing regulations with warehouse staff.

· Provide accurate and timely reports as necessary and assigned.

· Harry Chapin Food Bank is a “second responder” in the event of a community emergency or disaster. During an emergency or disaster, and only after an employee’s personal responsibilities are under control, employees are asked to report for work to be available to help in ways that may be different from their normal work responsibilities. In addition, employees may be temporarily transferred to other food banks (travel expenses paid) to assist them in recovering from the disaster.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Specific to Position

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· 1-3 years warehouse experience

· Equipment: 6 months minimum of ride on pallet jack experience and forklift experience.

· Excellent customer service, communication, and verbal skills

· Strong mathematical skills, and Experience with cycle counting and inventory control.

· Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong conflict resolution skills exercising diplomacy with vendors, donors, agencies, and staff.

· Ability to strictly adhere to safety rules: working safely is a condition of employment.

· Tolerance of temps from 40 degrees to -10 degrees

Working Conditions: This position requires the employee to work occasionally on weekends. Work is performed in a hot, humid warehouse most of the day, with a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. Work conditions during the summer months can be extremely hot. Workspace could be very dusty, and on occasions can be noisy due to the traffic of motorized vehicles operated in the building. Work involves lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, picking up and moving objects up to 30 to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
