Job description

OneMain's UX Design team is dedicated to building digital products that improve the financial well-being of hardworking Americans. We're responsible for shaping how customers experience OneMain by providing a journey infused with ease and context, so customers can gain confidence and optimism in their financial futures.
We're looking for an experienced UX Lead to deliver a well-thought, intuitive, and appealing loan servicing platform experience. In this role, you will be responsible for unpacking complex problems, leading designers and initiatives, and working closely with researchers, product managers, and engineers to deliver customer-centered experiences. This is both a hands-on and leadership role, with future management possibility for an experienced candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to unpack complex problems, plan research, generate ideas, and execute from low to high fidelity delivery.
  • Apply human-centered design methods through discovery, research, ideation, prototyping, to deliver easy, empathetic, and encouraging experiences.
  • Utilize service design methods to design ecosystems that orchestrate both foreground and background actions, people, processes, and touchpoints.
  • Drive bold innovative ideas that push the evolution of product experiences.
  • Collaborate with researchers to plan user research and generate insights.
  • Foster alignment and clarity via design-led workshops to create process maps, flows, wireframes, journey maps, service blueprints, UI designs, and more.
  • Propose information architecture, interaction design, and usability direction grounded in research and best practices.
  • Create and refine prototypes based on input to meet business and customer needs.
  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions and lead whiteboarding sessions.
  • Quickly make sense of, and thoughtfully solve for complexity at large scale
  • Use and help maintain our design system to deliver a consistent, on-brand experience across products and channels (web, app, email, etc.).

Qualifications
  • 8+ years experience designing complex consumer digital products (non-marketing)
  • Portfolio of digital product design (not marketing or informational sites)
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in all facets of UX (IA, IxD, usability, etc.), research, human-centered design, and design thinking.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to present work, explain design rationale, and collaborate with a wide variety of product stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and excel in a rapidly transforming environment.
  • General understanding of how systems fit together and challenges of different configurations.

Preferred but not required:
  • Prior experience with Financial Services / FinTech.
  • Successful record of working in a complex Enterprise organization.
  • Direct people management experience

Location: Hybrid schedule. Some travel required. Candidates must live within 1 hour driving of the following locations:

Target base salary range is $130K - $150K, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonuses or incentives that are based on individual and company performance.
