When you join Verizon

Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect around the world. We’re a human network that reaches across the globe and works behind the scenes. We anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. In crisis and in celebration, we come together—lifting up our communities and striving to make an impact to move the world forward. If you’re fueled by purpose, and powered by persistence, explore a career with us. Here, you’ll discover the rigor it takes to make a difference and the fulfillment that comes with living the #NetworkLife.

What you’ll be doing...

As a Consultant, in UX Research, you are viewed as a UX Research expert who acts as a trusted source for team members and stakeholders for up-to-date trends and best practices in UX Research.

Your role will involve understanding consumer needs and stakeholders while creating research strategies and deliverables that help Digital Experience teams design reliable, simple, and exceptional experiences for consumers. Products or services could be in either a pre-release state or publicly available.

You will partner closely with stakeholders across multiple Verizon Value business units, and with current and potential customers to conceptualize, validate, and evaluate Verizon Value products and services. You champion the customer’s viewpoint in all discussions about researched product and service experiences by making recommendations meant to satisfy customer experience and business objectives.

Your primary focus will be on three areas: Research Planning, Research Studies, and Research Process Improvement.

  • Develop and implement new research studies, analyze data, and report on results of research initiatives to a business audience.

  • Collect people's data through a variety of methods, including administration of surveys and interviews, conducting data analysis, and interpreting data to recommend actionable research insights. Contribute to the synthesis of information across multiple data points.

  • Conduct or guide usability evaluations of existing and planned applications.

  • Interpret data trends and present research findings that provide actionable recommendations for UX and CX enhancements.

  • Coach junior members on best research practices.

  • Provide guidance to contracted resources, ensuring that work produced meets or exceeds Verizon standards.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to department processes, procedures, and infrastructure. Seek out, evaluate, and recommend software and methodologies used to ensure the UX Research team is utilizing the most current and best practices.

  • Actively pursue opportunities to socialize UX Research activity and results.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Proven record of implementation of research efforts to improve experience from concept to execution.

  • Experience in handling multiple tasks and/or projects.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to create compelling presentations, and experience presenting to all levels of an organization.

  • Willingness to travel approximately up to 25%.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Moderator Certification.

  • A portfolio of UX research work.

  • Ability to digest and translate complex business requirements into strategic UX Research goals.

  • Experience with Qualtrics.

  • Experience with Google Suite.

  • Experience with Agile methodology and tools.

  • Leadership and/or management experience.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
