Job Description:
The Lead Therapist (LT) is responsible for providing therapy sessions for families, individuals, and groups at the Stables Autism Program. The LT is responsible for assessing the therapeutic needs of the individual and family, and for developing appropriate treatment objectives and monthly treatment summaries.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Demonstrates a high level of clinical skill in assessing the clinical needs of residents, determining appropriate interventions, and conducting therapy in accordance with these needs.

· Conducts individual therapy sessions for each resident on caseload at least one (1) time per week as part of the therapeutic process.

· Conducts specialized groups as assigned based on education, training, and experience. Supervises or co-leads groups with staff or interns when appropriate.

· Select appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual residents.

· Maintains therapeutic relationships with residents using praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes.

· Possesses the ability to set limits in a kind and firm manner.
Qualifications:

· Must have a master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, or other related fields, and be actively pursuing licensure from the state, such as LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMHC.

· Minimum two years of experience working with an emotionally disturbed population, which preferably would include young adults and adults in the mental health or education fields.

· Must have knowledge of human development over the life span.

· Requires valid State Driver's License and current CPR certification.
