SUMMARY
The Lead is responsible for ensuring the spa teams offer every guest a world-class experience during their visit to the spa from a warm welcome to the service they provide, until the end of the session. Communicate to the management any issues, training of new team members and new protocols, keeping backbar products in stock, and general overseeing of rooms being in “ready condition” for services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Provide training, audits, and product knowledge on all services to team members
- Provide new team members with an itinerary and learning goals by a specific date
- Oversee backbar inventory. Report orders by designated time to Supervisor
- After Supervisor has checked in backbar, Leads are responsible for placing order in proper storage location
- Audit the linens and report to manager or director when the supply needs to be reordered
- Audit the status of equipment and implements/tools
- Report appearance, and appropriateness of scheduled service team members when needed
- Request repairs and replacements as needed to MOD
- Maintain current TN licensure and keep a monthly audit of team members licenses. Report any upcoming expirations to manager
- Assist other team members in the set-up of all workstations and/or treatment rooms with necessary with products, equipment, and supplies when needed
- Ensure spa treatment areas are clean, and equipment is sanitized at all times
- Fold and restock rooms, closets & dispensary as needed
- Audit treatment rooms to ensure spa staff has completed their opening and closing duties
- Act in Supervisory/MOD role if needed
- Any tasks deemed necessary by the spa leadership to keep the spa clean, stocked and operating smoothly
- Clock in and out according to the duties (lead or provider status) of the day and approve timecard at the end of the pay period
- When clocking in under the different roles, make sure the correct choice is applied. Here is the path: Open PayCom, hit "Time Management" then "Web Time Clock" then under "Allocations" click the carrot for the drop-down menu & choose "Farm Spa Therapist Hourly" or “Lead Spa Therapist” according to your role.
LEADS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:
- Balancing the schedule (unless substituting for MOD)
- Disciplining team members
- Write-ups
- Giving permissions for PTO or blocking out a scheduled shift for yourself or another TM without the approval of the manager/director
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position, regular and predictable attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.
Must have the flexibility to work nights and weekends when needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees the estheticians, Massage Therapists, and/ or cosmetologist (license permitted)
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- TN State License required
- 750 hours of instruction for an esthetician required and/or
- 500 hours of instruction for a Massage Therapist required
- Three years' experience working in the field preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic knowledge and understanding of math
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to perform multiple services during shift
- Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- 5,200 acres of Blackberry Mountain property
- Must be able to work in a calm and quiet spa setting
