As our Technical Design Lead, you will use an expert knowledge of pattern-making, fit, and the product commercialization process from start to finish. This role will focus on product creation for Jordan across mens and/or womens. At times your role will also extend to concepting, testing, consumer validation, and commercialization of Jordan Chassis creation. You will apply advanced technical knowledge related to product fit & sizing to provide leadership on critical and complex apparel development projects. This role will also partner with our Global Technical Design team to represent Jordan in establishing standards & processes with regards to size & fit.
Who are we looking for
We are hiring for two (2) Lead Technical Designer- Global Jordan Apparel.
This candidate brings expert pattern-making skills, craft innovation, and a leadership mentality. The candidate needs to have strong technical expertise in creating Streetwear apparel with a focus or experience in wovens, sweaters, and outerwear. This role requires the use of pattern-making software (Optitex) and 3D tools & technologies such as CLO. We are looking for someone who brings a strategic problem solver with project management capabilities, a strong independent work organization, and role model behavior that cultivates positive and productive team environments. What you will work on
This individual will partner across the Jordan creation triad to construct and implement streetwear product and processes across multiple calendars and teams. You will work cross-functionally to actively influence and craft seasonal product, brand concepts, and TD chassis and tools all in the support of the Jordan Apparel teams. You'll ensure project concepts align with the Jordan Brand vision, determining the best fit and workmanship practices to drive quality to the consumer. While producing seasonal product you will also represent Jordan in the Global TD community to ensure our product and consumers are represented in the Global initiatives.
Who will you work with
This role reports to our Technical Design Director and will work with a dedicated technical design team. You will partner with Design, Global Apparel Materials (GLAM), Product Management, PCC/Development (overseas), and Operations partners to deliver excellent Streetwear product. Connection with the Design teams will be crucial as we build groundbreaking concepts for upcoming seasonal launches. You will work with PCC and Shanghai TD teams to commercialize product with factory partners and align product globally inclusive of Asian fit. You'll also provide technical recommendations and support to the Global TD teams and community to represent Jordan on new tools and processes implemented across the team.
What you will bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, Textile Science or a relevant combination of education and experience
  • Advanced (5+ years) experience in the apparel development process from inception through production, including but not limited to pattern making, grading, construction, costing, manufacturing, embroidery, materials, and quality
  • Expert in pattern making, translating patterns to written product specs and construction standards instructions.
  • Ability to act as a technical resource and mentor others; lead initiatives and project teams
  • Demonstrated skill in problem solving and results orientation
  • Ability to manage a high workload and multiple projects
  • Proficiency with CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex) and 3D software (Clo) highly desired
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs and Adobe Illustrator
  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time including International travel
