Essential Job Duties:

• Assist classroom teacher with planning and implementing curriculum program which reflects observations and goals of each child.
• Develop and maintain a safe, nurturing, and healthy learning environment in which infants can learn and grow.
• Lead and educate children through activities of the day, assuring they have an enjoyable, well-rounded educational experience while providing positive guidance.
• Participate in parent communication.
• Assist in meeting child’s basic needs (diapers, attention, etc.).
• Build a positive relationship with each child.
• Maintain confidentiality of school directives, curriculum, and software.
• Be familiar with policies and procedures of The Gardner School and State Licensing Agencies.
• Maintain professional and positive relationships with parents and co-workers.
• Meet state licensing requirements for education and experience. Knowledge of general administrative tasks
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
• Ability to multi-task
• Regular and reliable attendance

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Two years of professional teaching experience anywhere from 6 weeks to 5 years old
• Must love working with children and have a loving and nurturing personality.
• Excellent communication skills, including personal face-to-face communications with parents, staff, and children.
• Have a teamwork mindset, strong communication skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability. Frequently lifts or moves weight as in lifting, carrying, and holding children and infants of 10 to 60 pounds.
• Ability to operate computer, phone and other office equipment as needed
• Ability to lift and carry of children up to 60 pounds

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
