Lead Teacher - Child Care

As the Lead Teacher, you have the chance to nurture the minds of young dreamers. You'll create and deliver exciting educational activities that align with Catherine's Cottage Daycare’s values, regulations, goals, and core mission. Your mission is to kindle a passion for learning in the children for life!

We are growing and we’re looking for a dedicated, energetic, and motivated staff member to join our team as Lead Teacher, reporting to the Executive Director. 

$18 hourly

• Support the Executive Director in creating a secure, inclusive, and positive environment for all staff, families, and kids
• Encourage and serve as a role model to other teachers
• Craft and implement lesson plans for the Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-K classes
• Lead the team in developing and maintaining clear objectives that contribute to top-notch instruction
• Assist with additional classroom activities such as free play, breaks, lunchtime, and rest periods
• Interact with children to facilitate their play, exploration, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development
• Collaborate with other teachers to create an inviting and nurturing learning space
• Stay in touch with families through informal conversations
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the classroom
• Have the capability to perform a variety of motions such as lifting, squatting, reaching, sitting, and climbing
• Convey potential issues in a timely and effective way
• Attend staff and training meetings
• Access training in CPR and First Aid with reimbursement

• Demonstrate an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
• Possess prior experience teaching in a childcare, preschool, or kindergarten setting
• Hold an Associate’s degree or have taken courses in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Recent graduates with a passion for making an impact in the field of early childhood education are encouraged to apply
• Possess a caring, nurturing, patient, and creative personality
• Show a willingness to foster a productive and enjoyable learning atmosphere through positive team-focused goal-setting
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills
• Have a passion for working in a diverse and inclusive culture
