Tiny Steps Learning Center is looking to hire a Lead Infant Teacher. Permanent Full-Time position.

Reports to: 
  • Owners/Stakeholders, Director, Head Teacher, or any temporarily designated Supervisor.
  • Lead Teachers report directly to the Team Leader or Director with any questions or concerns they have regarding the children's center policy. 

Basic Functions:
  • Responsible for assisting the Teacher to facilitate daily curriculum activities for the children. 
  • Must adhere to the Tiny Steps Learning Center Confidentiality Policy.

Experience:
  • Prior early childhood care experience is required.

Qualifications:
  • Have a high school degree or equivalent education.
  • Have training and certifications in the areas of early childhood education, child development, or a child-related field.
  • Submit various background checks including those completed through the Department of Human Services.
  • Must have CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens certifications or obtain certifications upon hire.
  • Complete a Tuberculosis test and physical and provide a physician’s documentation of both.
  • Must be a team player and be mentally and physically capable of caring for a large group of children in a classroom setting.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, be a team player, be respectful of everyone in the workplace, and have minimal absences.
  • Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations.
  • Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 70lbs.
  • Be available for full-time employment and available to work as late as up to 6:00 pm.
Required Expectations:
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational needs.
  • Utilize developmentally appropriate practice and best practice methods at all times.
  • Be a positive role model for all caregiving staff and children.
  • Be customer service orientated and professional.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Be the primary caregiver for up to four children in the classroom.
  • Assist children with activities of daily life (restroom use, diapering, hand washing).
  • Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times.
  • Engage children in activities and play that stimulate their development.
  • Approach parents daily and speak with them about their child(ren).
  • Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children.
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care and friendly service.
  • Supervise teacher aides in the classroom and ensure they are following program policy and customer service expectations.
  • Train any teacher aides in the classroom and direct them as to what duties need to be carried out throughout the day.
  • Plan daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children.
  • Plan and prepare lesson plans, and submit them by administrative guidelines every week.
  • Participate in weekly scheduled team teaching meetings.
  • Attend in-service training, conference, staff meetings, and parent meeting as required.
  • Write summaries of daily activities and provide parents/guardians with documentation.
  • Be responsible for daily sheets and daily activities about eating, sleeping, and diaper changing.
  • Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times.
  • Maintain accurate and current attendance records and other related paperwork.
  • Perform general classroom cleaning duties including sweeping the floor after meals, cleaning cots, and chairs, and wiping tables or spills as necessary.
  • Maintain classroom and storage area materials in a neat, orderly manner with labels to identify their location.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
