Description:
- Lead the system design and integration project by collaborating with engineer teams and managing subsystem vendors to design and integrate rolling stock systems that meet the company and customer standards in timeline and quality.
- Design, develop, and deploy the vehicle electrical system and integration including embedded hardware and software, circuits, wiring and associated mechanical interfaces.
- Review and manage system specifications and requirements to meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
- Represent the company as the engineer in the meetings with customers and suppliers for assigned projects.
- Plan and execute testing and validation procedures of LRV electrical and mechanical systems.
- Analyze test results and work on improvements, as necessary. Document evaluation results.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot rolling stock system issues to ensure operational reliability.
- Develop maintenance plans and procedures to keep systems in peak condition.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations and standards, ensuring that rolling stock systems meet all relevant safety and compliance requirements.
- Assist in preparing documentation, reports, and technical proposals for regulatory approvals.
- Provide technical support to the maintenance and operations teams for addressing rolling stock system-related issues.
- Collaborate with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure the availability of spare parts and technical support.
- Identify opportunities for improving rolling stock systems' performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers to solve complex problems through thought leadership and robust analyses.
- Assist in special projects as assigned by the Senior Engineering Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, and Systems Engineering in Rolling Stock projects.
- Proven experience in managing suppliers of railway vehicle subsystems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Rolling Stock subsystems using hardware and mechanical drawings, circuit diagrams, and various tools, such as PTU.
- Experience in supervising Railway RAMS engineering, including Verification and Validation (V&V) processes.
- Ability to travel as needed (domestic and international). Duration of travel may require extended periods of time to stay at destination.
The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
