Job Description Qualifications:
Boeing's Government Training Engineering (GTE) team is looking for a Lead Systems Engineerto support the Air Dominance Ownship Systems Engineering Team in Hazelwood, MO. This individual will be responsible for developing detailed ownship level product requirements, hardware and software integration, as well as developing and executing verification and integration test procedures.
Essential Functions:

  • Understand training system level requirements and requirements architecture flow down of Ownship specific subsystem level requirements.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering database tools (i.e. DESE, DOORS, OSEE)
  • Understand and follow Systems Engineering best practices in requirements definition and system architecture development, in a multi-disciplinary team for the design, development, integration and production of multiple training system products.
  • Ensure product integration and interface requirements are clearly defined, documented, and communicated to relevant teams.
  • Plan and execute integration activities to meet program requirements and timelines.
  • Define and perform appropriate requirements verification tests to ensure that the system meets the defined requirements.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of discrepancies identified during verification testing to ensure product safety and quality goals are met.
  • Develop the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements for management processes, tools, risks, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Experience with cross functional product development teams for military training products.
  • Experience with day to day interface with multiple stakeholders, including the internal and external customers.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years experience reviewing, writing, and analyzing work statements conforming to engineering specifications and requirements
  • Experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects to ensure high quality delivery
  • 3+ years of experience working with Suppliers, Supply Chain, and Procurement
  • 3+ years of experience with Department Of Defense (DOD) contract language and estimating experience
  • 3+ experience working with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Department of Defense (DOD) contracts
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 2+ years of experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Lean, Kanban, etc.) and agile project management tools (JIRA, TFS, VersionOne, etc.)?
  • 3 years of experience in simulation, particularly aircrew (flight) simulators and/or trainers
  • 3+ years of experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
  • 3+ years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

Typical Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
