Job description

Summary
Provides first-line supervision of Supply Persons and/or temporary employees in the performance of one or more warehouse supply functions
Essential Duties
  • Assumes responsibility for one or more supply functions of receiving, inspecting, storing, inventory and/or distributing school equipment and materials
  • Works closely with other Lead Supply Persons Identifies and assigns a balanced workload for Supply Persons and other employees as assigned; Duties include planning and delegating work, monitoring performance, providing technical assistance, and evaluating work performance
  • Resolves minor complaints and effects minor disciplinary action with employees assigned
  • Prepares and provides timely logistical status reports Serves as a warehouse liaison with schools and departments
  • Ensures accurate processing of multi-million dollars of school material
  • Recognizes and resolves vendor discrepancies
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Required Education
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Certification/Licensure
Valid Georgia Driver License required
CDL preferred
Experience Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the supply/warehouse field required; Experience working with WMS (Warehouse Management System) and/or RF environment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of warehousing principles, safety, and customer focus is desired
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computer-based office applications
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 80 pounds
  • Must be able to load and off-load 1500 pounds from a truck utilizing a hand jack
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Stockroom or warehouse
  • High dust, dirt, grease environment
  • Requires extensive safety training and/or protective devices
  • Regular exposure to moving machinery and/or vehicles

Physical Demands
  • Requires lifting and carrying, bending, stooping, and crawling
  • Typically requires pushing and/or pulling
  • Requires climbing ladders and/or scaffolds
  • Requires distinguishing colors and/or depth perception to judge distances
