• Under the direction of the Steward Supervisor, the Lead steward is responsible for assisting cooks, servers, and guests in accordance with established policy and procedures on an assigned shift.

•  Exhibit all conduct in accordance with Golden Nugget policies and procedures, as well as all Federal and State laws and regulations.

•  Effectively operate heavy duty cleaning equipment (floor machine, pressure washer, Floor Buffer)

• Maintains work areas (kitchens, cooking preparation, etc.), equipment (cook stoves, grills, stove hoods, deep fryers, etc.), and utensils in a clean and sanitary manner and in accordance with OSHA and ServSafe standards.

• Removes garbage and trash, and places refuse in designated pick up area

•  Assigns duties to Golden Nugget Stewards and contracted stewards, follows up, and ensures company policy adherence.

•   Maintains cleanliness and sanitary conditions in all kitchen areas and food storage areas by steam cleaning mats and other walking surfaces, washing walls, ceilings, and woodwork.

•  Maintains safe working conditions and practices in the kitchen and eating area.

•  Must be presentable when reporting to work, wearing appropriate uniform. Good personal hygiene required
•  Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.

•  Responsible for washing dishware, glassware, and utensils.

•  Responsible for proper and safe use of kitchen dishwashing and cleaning equipment and supplies.

• Maintain a work environment that is safe, professional, friendly, and conductive to a high level of productivity and performance.

•  Maintain excellent communication skills and interpersonal relations with guests, vendors, visitors, and fellow employees.

•  Ensure prompt and discreet notification to appropriate management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.

•  Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.

•  All duties as assigned by your supervisor or a member of management.

Who you are and what you've accomplished:

Minimum of (1) year stewarding experience in a high-volume restaurant or banquet kitchen.
Demonstrated successful performance in a cleaning role strongly preferred.
Experience servicing large numbers of guests in a public environment.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have solid decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment. Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationships with all individuals. Ability to work occasional overtime and irregular hours.
