Lead Software Engineer
Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Lead Software Engineer will drive development of cloud-based data services, DevOps, and database management systems. With an expanding focus on understanding, processing and synthesizing data through the business, we need an experienced software leader to help us grow Divert's suite of solutions. In this player/coach role you will do this by inspiring and leveraging the unique talents of our experienced team of Software Engineers to;
- build and maintain scalable and secure software for cloud data services and operations
- lead and participate in code reviews, and drive accountability for code quality
- help develop a technical roadmap that supports the company's goals and objectives
- manage your team (4) developers through all phases of the software development lifecycle
- translate business requirements into technical objectives for the team
- act as a software development subject matter expert, as a leader and contributing developer
Qualifications:
- bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 7-10 years of experience
- a "player-coach", able to lead a team of developers, and set a high bar for team members to follow
- strong leadership skills, independent thinking, organizational and planning abilities, and analytical and problem solving skills
- highly proficient in Python, MySQL, and software security principles
- familiar with Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes
- experience in managing software development projects in the Agile methodology
- demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication
