PURPOSE OF POSITION:
A Shelter Associate Lead at Catholic Charities:
- Applies appropriate techniques and standards in assisting the Shelter Supervisor and Manager in program operations and service delivery consistent with our mission, values and Catholic teachings.
- Implements program objectives and standards as directed by supervisor/management
- Assist management in maintaining accurate and timely program statistical data to meet reporting requirements. Enters data and generates reports.
- Responsible in the development and implementation of staff training
- Subject matter expert of each shift of the shelter operation.
- Responsible to provide consistent monitoring of patients in the H to H Program, communication and training of staff and care coordination team and the progress and monitoring requirements of the patient status including but not limited to vitals, observation of health/behaviors and logging of data clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of basic CPR/First Aid, AED and medical concepts (vitals) to address crisis situations or determine next step in the care process.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of related supervisory/lead experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some college preferred but not required.
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification and/or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
- One-year experience working with homeless or low income individuals in a residential setting, preferably with mental health diagnosed clients.
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary: $18.50/hr. $1/hr bilingual or overnight differential.
Schedule: Ability to cover overnights and weekends as needed as well as attend mandatory trainings and meetings. Typical week ten hour shifts Sunday to Wednesday 12:30pm to 10:30pm. The Samaritan House Shelter is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, Holidays are a must.
Training: We provide a robust training curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career. Training provided within the first year of employment includes: De-escalation & Safety; Public Speaking; Mental Health First Aid; Substance Abuse & Mental Health; Human Trafficking; Trauma Informed Care; and many more.
