Lead Residential Carpenter

We are a very strong, high-quality residential construction firm, established in 2007. We also have an electrical division. Most of our projects are located in north and central Seattle. We currently have around 15 full-time employees (including electrical) and need to add a Lead Carpenter. Our projects are middle/high-end and are a combination of additions and remodels. We have a backlog full of projects to take us through the end of the year and beyond, and are turning away work daily.

Our team currently includes 4 high-level lead carpenters, often partnered with an apprentice or assistant carpenter to support them. We are looking to add another lead carpenter to our crew.

As a lead carpenter, you must have a high level of broad-based carpentry skills (both finish and framing), minimum 8 years of experience working in a residential construction/remodeling environment, the ability to lead a team on an addition with heavy structural requirements or install stain-grade crown molding (for example) or a high-end cabinet package, the ability to read and apply architectural and structural drawings, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to think through complicated problems in a calm and creative manner. For this lead carpenter position, we are also looking for someone with a mindset for efficiency and production, and the humility to work in a team.

You will also be responsible for managing a jobsite and client relations along with the crew on site. The lead carpenter position will also be responsible for coordinating with our Project Manager on a daily basis, and teaching/training the Assistant Carpenter and other staff assisting you. Our company goal is to teach and develop staff within the company, and advance the crew upward. We have built a very loyal crew this way, and as a family-run business we are very loyal and supportive towards our crew. We do a good job keeping our workplace supportive and drama-free.

A reliable truck or van will be necessary for this position. As is a valid drivers license and reasonably clean driving record.
