Job Title: Lead Recovery Support Specialist - Capuchin & Prairie Apartments
Reports to: Supportive Service Development Coordinator
Salary Range: Full-time/Salaried starting at $40,000/yr
This position is responsible for the coordination, planning and implementation of services for the Guest House's case management services at both Capuchin and Prairie Apartments. The Lead Recovery Support Specialist will work cooperatively in the provision of quality, inclusive supportive services to residents of each apartment building. Candidate must possess a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals facing a variety of significant AODA recovery issues, mental and/ or physical health issues, promote acceptance and inclusion, as well as support and maintain safe spaces for all.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to the Capuchin Case Manager and Prairie Supportive Service Coordinator
  • Work with Supportive Service Coordinator of Interim Housing to develop program policies, procedures and administrative systems
  • Ensure that Capuchin and Prairie residents files are in compliance with Guest House and funders guidelines
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with the case management team
  • Provide full Recovery Support services for a caseload split between Capuchin and Prairie Apartments
  • Oversee and observe assessment of tenants to determine eligibility for placement.
  • Work with Program Manager of Interim Housing to create, implement and review the tenant's supportive service plans and programmatic policies and procedures
  • Plan, implement, and facilitate recovery groups at Capuchin and Prairie
  • Provide ongoing communications with property management staff and service providers
  • Provides Case Management services to the program participants; and ensure that all charts and other records are documented and preserved according to Guest House, Milwaukee County and HUD standards
  • Assure that all tenant's charts and other records are documented and preserved according to both Guest House, Milwaukee County and HUD standards
  • Responsible for expenditures, budgeting in compliance with HUD guidelines and ensure that the program is administered in accordance with the contract
  • Assure that all relevant documentation relating to the operation of the program is maintained and updated as needed
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with tenants as defined through the supportive services agreement
  • Provide ongoing resources and referrals for clients
  • Establish and maintain positive community relationships
  • Other duties as assigned by Supportive Service Development Coordinator.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience of utilizing community services and resources
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbal and written. Ability to obtain necessary information for the housing eligibility interview
  • Ability to write professional and technical documents
  • Ability to plan, implement and follow through on projects relating to the position
  • Possession of an automobile, a valid driver's license and insurance in compliance with agency limits
  • Skill and understanding in building management, landlord tenant relations and an understanding of housing contracts and leases
  • Flexibility in schedule (some evening and weekend hours required)

Training and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Human Services or a related field.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with individuals who have experienced homelessness, addiction and who are living with mental illness.
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention training.
  • Computer proficient - working knowledge of Microsoft programs.
  • First Aid training and CPR certification a plus.
