Lead Shipping/Receiving Material Handler

Better Engineering Mfg., Inc. located in Joppa, MD is seeking a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Lead Shipping/Receiving Material Handler. This position is responsible for assisting the Receiving Supervisor in managing receiving/warehouse activities, including all incoming/outgoing shipments using appropriate Receiving/Shipping methods established through company procedures and QA processes.

• Assist Receiving Supervisor in managing daily operations of the receiving/warehouse department.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify purchasing or accounting of any inventory discrepancies.
• Receive incoming shipments and verify against purchase order via hard copy and within the ERP system.Verify items received by inspecting the condition of items; comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list; noting and reporting discrepancies and /or damages.
• Document and input all verified Receiving/Shipping data in ERP system per company procedures.
• Accurately pick parts for upcoming and active Job orders and supply to Production.
• Pick customer parts orders from finished goods inventory and package in accordance with company procedures.
• Review all customer parts orders to ensure all requirements are met. Prepare proper shipping documentation and labels.
• Complete all applicable Receiving/Shipping documentation as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment to ensure employee safety and OSHA compliance.
• Process all non-conforming, customer RMAs, and vendor RMAs and products per company procedures.
• Participate in all physical inventories and cycle counts. Physically count or weight count parts to ensure proper quantity.
• Maintain traceability and accountability of all products by attaching proper identification.
• Perform all other duties that may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Effective written and verbal communication skill - must read, write, speak and understand English
• 2-3yrs Receiving/shipping experience
• Experience with ERP system a plus
• Able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
• Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling devices
• Must be organized, detail oriented, and have ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
• Basic computer skills a must
• Must be able to work overtime
