What to Expect What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
The Lead Quality Technician works with cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Production, Sustaining, and Supply Chain) throughout the entire lifecycle of a product (from initial design through prototype development and into full production). Her/His role consist of make sure the production line is quickly protected from parts quality related issues through providing quick response to containment requests from production/quality teams while completing documentation for sorts and reworks (defining a proper method of inspection). The Lead Quality Technician communicates with suppliers to expedite containment actions and follow up with corrective action owners, collaborating on the RCCA process finding, additionally, ways to reduce cost through inspection/rework method identification.
- Consistently perform higher level root cause investigations utilizing quality system
- Have substantial understanding of the job and apply knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks while providing insights and coordinating cross-functional team assessments on parts quality issue downstream impact and priorities
- Monitor the Quality of the inspection / rework is set and the cost is driven down
- Guide and coordinate Technicians and Inspectors on shift, taking primary ownership for their training and ability to maintain conformance to quality procedures and specifications
- Guide and coordinate training efforts on the Parts quality inspection/rework procedures are being maintained and interact with the manufacturing team members to determine shift priorities and allocation of labor
- Must understand general manufacturing processes, quality methodologies, and team leadership while demonstrating reliability, initiative, and desire to learn and teach
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English along with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and prioritization
- Capable of providing constructive feedback to subordinate and maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required and a preferred experience with quality methods/analysis, familiarity with process control/charts, defect identification and analysis, SPC, FMEA
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and sit, stand, and/or walk for 12+ hours per day
- Proficiency at reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and bility to use technological tools such as touch screen displays, and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$36.77 - $54.44/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
