Job Description Qualifications:
BoeingCommercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Technical Lead to support the Quality Engineering team at the 787 Charleston Preflight Paint and Delivery Center based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.
Successful candidates will solve delivery related problems with a sense of urgency, have Boeing delivery experience, and interest in leading teammates and involvement in organizational strategy. This role will be critical to improving the quality performance of the 787 program and will have direct visibility to Delivery Center, Paint, and Program leadership and airline customers. The Technical Lead will take on impactful assignments while enabling success of the Delivery Center and Paint QE team members.
Position Responsibilities:

• Data analysis of defect trends and leadership/support of Root Cause Corrective Action and Problem-Solving activities
• Identify and lead projects to identify root cause/point of occurrence and eliminate defects to support the Delivery Center FSCC, flight improvement team, and operations team
• First point of contact when complex MBU issues arise
• Establish and own cadence for team status meetings
• Assign emergent or long-term tasks to appropriate team members
• Maintain backup plan/facilitate cross training of Delivery Center skillset across the greater QE team
• Own status reporting of major MBU initiatives
• Mentor teammates to enhance capabilities
• Hold team accountable to standard work and operating procedures
• Participate in strategy sessions with QE LT
• Continuous improvement of Quality Engineering processes

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Charleston, South Carolina location.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline (ABET accreditation is preferred)
• Experience as a formal or informal lead
• 9+ years' experience (or 7+ years with a Masters) in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or another regulated industry
• Experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution processes
• Experience collecting, organizing and analyzing data, summarizing findings, and developing conclusions
• Experience managing projects with cross-functional stakeholders and teammates

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience working in a Boeing Delivery Center
• Experience in Quality Engineering or another Boeing Quality team
• Experience in process improvement/solving cross-functional issues
• Experience with database management/analytics tools & software (SQL, SAS, MS Access, etc.)
• Proactive and collaborative mindset with an emphasis on positive relationships
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
• Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $108,800- 147,200
