The Orchard Center is a small, private preschool dedicated to preparing its students to be lifetime learners by fostering an association between fun and academics in a home-like environment, with a commitment to special needs, arts, and diversity and inclusion programming and curricula. With our close-knit classrooms, individualized student-teacher relationships, and over 3-acres of outdoor space, we are committed to creating a supportive and engaging home-away-from-home where our infant, toddler, and Pre-K students can thrive, and we are looking for passionate educators who can help us in our mission.
Preschool Teacher Job Responsibilities:
Contributes to child learning, growth, and advancement.
Displays a passion for developing preschool-age appropriate educational activities and practice.
Maintains a positive mindset toward child learning and social-emotional development.
Believes in our students and invests in their well-being, health, and safety.
Serves as a problem-solving facilitator and role-model.
Demonstrates ability to learn and convey a variety of subject matters quickly.
Manages small and large groups of students in a classroom environment
Communicates effectively with parents and students, including on potentially sensitive topics.
Works efficiently within existing learning structures and adheres to school processes and protocols.
Work Hours & Benefits:
Full Time- 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday
Hourly Wage, $18-$22/hour depending on experience // Salary Wage Negotiable

Hard Skills:
Knowledge of instructional methods appropriate for preschool-aged children
Ability and desire to work with children with diverse backgrounds and levels of ability toward accomplishing their educational and developmental goals
Is familiar with multiple toddler learning areas and early learning philosophies and frameworks
Is able to organize tasks, document daily activities, and manage time to meet many and varied deadlines
Has a working familiarity with assistive technologies; internet and email systems; and word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software
Understands, implements, and is committed to the advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom
Soft Skills:
Passionate about early childhood education and excited to grow as a leader and educator
Creative
Patient, observant, and nurturing
Can help students foster independence, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Education, Early Childhood Education Child Development, or related field
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary and relevant instructional strategies
Recent teaching experience or other activity in area of primary instruction
Teaching credentials or certifications are a major plus
CPR certification, or a willingness to become CPR certified
