Our family home preschool is looking for a professional, energetic & creative Lead Teacher who has experience working with children from 2 through 5 years old. We are committedto providing extraordinary care and educational opportunities for every child enrolled inour program. Our goal is to enrich the lives of each child in our loving home environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable caring for several children independently at times. Responsibilities:
* The Lead Teacher addresses all areas of development and meets the individual needs of each child. In partnership with the director, the Lead Teacher observes and assesses children’s development, plans children’s curriculum based on child development knowledge, designs the learning environment, and implements and supervises developmentally appropriate learning activities.
• Coordinate and implement an educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
* Support children’s social and emotional development through positive child guidance approaches and the development of positive relationships in the classroom.
* Maintain a clean & safe environment; maintain engagement, interaction & be fully present throughout the day.
• Ensure a healthy classroom environment–including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and safety and security of children.
* Provide direction to staff as needed.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
• 2+ years childcare/preschool
• Possess valid EMSA CPR and First Aid certifications (or willing to obtain)
• Must pass Mandatory Reporter Training
• Must pass background check/fingerprinting
• Calm, caring and compassionate attitude is an absolute must!
• Ability to lift 30lbs and be on the floor with the children
• Experience with early-childhood education and curriculum development
• High energy and the ability to work well and communicate with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
