The Town of Fountain Hills, AZ has an excellent full-time job opportunity available as the Lead Park Attendant.
This position reports to the Senior Recreation Program Coordinator. In addition to performing simple manual and clerical duties with little or no supervision in park maintenance or recreation, this position functions in a lead capacity to other Park Attendants. The distinguishing characteristic between this position and a Park Attendant is that the Lead Park Attendant is assigned to perform additional duties. The additional duties may involve training, providing functional direction to other Park Attendants, interpreting, and communicating policies, and reporting operating issues to the Recreation Manager or management.
This position works evenings and weekends.
- Acts in a lead capacity which involves training employees, providing direction to other employees, interpreting, and communicating policies and assignments to employees, and reporting operating issues to the supervisor
- Participates in delivery of recreation programs, including interaction with participants
- Monitors sites, picking up paper and trash.
- Provides general cleaning of buildings and restrooms
- Performs routine clerical functions such as delivering flyers and answering phones or general office work
- Sets up apparatus and other equipment and issues supplies, preps athletic fields and ball diamonds
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality seamless customer service
- Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalent.
- Twelve (12) months experience as a Park Attendant or in related programs areas preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license for a minimum of two years with a good driving record, Basic First Aid and CPR/AED Certification required.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and training that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
- Work requires the ability to read, write, and understand reports.
- Work requires the ability to perform general math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Work requires the ability to write reports and fill out forms.
- While no direct supervision is exercised, work requires training of other employees, providing direction and clarification of job assignments of other employees, interpreting, and communicating policies and procedures to other employees, and reporting operating issues to supervisory staff.
- Work is governed by broad instructions, objectives, and policies. Work requires the exercise of initiative and independent analytical and evaluative judgment.
- Work requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
