We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to fill the role of Lead Teacher at Creative Milestones. At Creative Milestones, our philosophy is to address the whole child through a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum. The ideal candidate will not only excel in creating a nurturing and educational environment for young children but will also possess strong organizational and administrative skills to contribute to the efficient operation of the center.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and supervise age-appropriate activities and lessons that stimulate intellectual and social development in a variety of learning styles.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain an engaging and creative curriculum in line with educational standards.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.
- Establish and enforce classroom rules and behavior expectations.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed such as: record-keeping, attendance tracking, maintaining student files, and additional tasks as assigned.
- Implement center policies and procedures.
- Maintain effective communication.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices.
- Foster positive relationships with parents through effective communication and regular updates on their child's progress.
- Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the center’s team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older, with a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following:
- Must have a minimum of 18 credits in related coursework, including at least 3 credits in child or human growth and development, plus a minimum of 1000 hours’ experience working in a licensed childcare center or public or private elementary school;
- Must have a minimum of 12 credits in related coursework, including at least 3 credits in child or human growth and development, plus a minimum of 3000 hours’ experience working in a licensed childcare center or public or private elementary school;
- Documentation of a non-expired child development associates (CDA) in center based programs awarded by the council for professional recognition;
- Five years as a licensed family child care provider
- Successful completion of the New Hampshire Early Childhood Apprenticeship Program;
- A minimum of 1000 hours of supervised child care experience in a licensed child care program, documentation of successful completion of a 2-year vocational course i career and technical education with an additional 9 credits in related coursework
All applicants must:
- Ability to pass a background check and have a clean fingerprint scan
- Have a current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of NH Early Learning Standards and developmentally appropriate practices is a plus!
Pay: $16-$23 an hour, based on experience
