The successful candidate will:

• Lead children in Montessori lessons
• Guide and supervise assistant teacher.
• Guide unique and creative lessons to support a Montessori curriculum for children ages 18 months-3 years.
• Supervise children with safety as the highest priority.
• Guide effective classroom management.
• Preparation of the indoor and outdoor learning environments (ex. preparing materials and supplies, cleaning up, properly storing materials in collaboration with the children)
• Establish strong daily routines and rhythms for children.
• Maintain positive relationships with families.
• Work collaboratively with other toddler teachers and aftercare teachers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Montessori trained, certificate preferred.
• Must meet Early Childhood Education requirements for California Community Care Licensing – minimum 12 completed ECE units
• Spanish speaker (highly desirable, but not required)
• Passionate, knowledgeable and creative
• Experience working with toddlers (18 months to 3 years old)
• Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn
• Able to effectively communicate with parents
• Team player and committed to making learning joyful
• A "can do" attitude
• Warm and nurturing demeanor

Pay: Up to $35.00 per hour
