Lead Mold Maker
In this role, the Lead Mold maker/Toolmaker is responsible for building new tooling per CAD or detailed prints, evaluating, maintaining, and repairing existing molds as well as production tooling.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Must be able to plan and build new tooling with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to accurately evaluate and execute mold repairs or changes.
- Identify and communicate any possible tooling improvements.
- Must be able to delegate work and train Mold Makers, mold maintenance technicians, and apprentices.
- Must be able to operate all tool room equipment.
- Must be able to work overtime based on production needs.
- Work with QA to identify quality concerns.
SUCCESS FACTORS
- Must be able to plan and build new plastic injection tooling with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to accurately evaluate and execute mold repairs or changes.
- Must be able to delegate work and train Mold Makers, mold maintenance technicians, and apprentices.
- Successful completion of forklift training.
- Must be able to operate all tool room equipment.
WHAT YOU BRING (skills, knowledge, experience)
- 7+ years of injection molding building experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-year diploma for Tool and Die program
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have good problem-solving skills and be detail oriented.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Must have own precision tools.
- Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
- Prior forklift experience is preferred.
Direct Hire
$28 - $39/hr. depending on experience
1st shift 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
The company also has a perfect attendance bonus – which is tracked and paid out weekly – of an additional $1.50 per hour for all jobs (an extra $2.00 only for Process Technician II’s).
