Foot and Ankle Specialists of Illinois (FASI) is an established medical and surgical podiatry practice located in Algonquin, IL. We are looking to add a LeadMedical Assistant with at least 3+ years of experience to our team. What you will be doing:
Clinical Duties

• Enjoying your day at work!
• Moving in and out of the rooms actively delivering hands-on chairside patient care in the exam rooms
• Being on your feet for the majority of the day
• Reviewing the daily schedule and addressing any potential bottlenecks
• Participating in huddles, debriefs, and team meetings and optimizing the flow of the clinic
• Taking x-rays, medical histories, and vital signs
• Preparing patients for examination and assisting the physician during the examination
• Explaining treatment procedures and patient education as directed by podiatrist
• Measuring for diabetic shoes
• Removing sutures and changing dressings
• Arranging room instruments and equipment
• Cleaning and maintenance of office equipment and areas
• Ordering medical supplies and stocking rooms
• Learning new procedures, processes, and protocols
• Creating/managing templates in the electronic medical records system
• Scribing for doctors in the exam room
• Assisting with surgery scheduling
• Covering the front desk as needed (phones, scheduling, registration, check-in/out, handling money)
• Verifying insurance coverage and calculating/documenting patient responsibility
• Managing office emergencies

Leadership & Admin Duties

• Participating in FASI's leadership mentoring and coaching program
• Completing assigned leadership tasks in a timely manner
• Leading effective team meetings
• Understanding FASI's key metrics and driving goals and outcomes
• Serving as a subject matter expert on the EMR system
• Preparing training materials and protocol documentation
• Training other team members as needed and requested by management
• Overseeing inventory controls, forecasting, and budgeting
• Working well with the office manager, physician owner, and FASI management
• Handling any other duties (and special projects) as assigned by FASI management

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Minimum 3+ years experience in a busy healthcare setting (required)
• Minimum 3+ years experience using medical patient care software or EMR platforms such as e-clinical works, next-gen office, Athena, epic, or other similar systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products Outlook e-mail, excel, etc
• Willingness to learn and collaborate
• Excellent communication and writing skills
