What can you expect as a Lead Designer at Ranger Design?

Under the Product Manager’s supervision, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Design Innovative Products.
  • Work with identified suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability and profitability.
  • Provide world class service to our customers
  • Create clear and accurate part and assembly drawings.
  • Manage Sourced Products.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and solutions.
  • Work with supply chain and suppliers to develop a solution on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate the launch ensure all step of the Ranger design process were followed (design reviews, sign off, testing, implementation, trainings, etc).
  • Support the program manager by providing technical expertise on designs, time estimates, and products.
  • Ensure Product Quality Control - Ensure all new products are tested and conform with Ranger safety standards and design practices and meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Complete and document testing and test-fitting of products to ensure fit, function and safety conformance.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain and acquire knowledge of safety standards in the category of each design project.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for?

  • To be a strong team player, supporting your colleagues, growing through feedback and having excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with your team as well as with our external partners and customers,
  • Design skills,
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering,
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a similar role,
  • Experience in upfitting,
  • Experience working with sheet metal,
  • Experienced skills in process improvement,
  • Technical understanding,
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills,
  • An ability to multi-task and work in a high volume, fast-paced environment,
  • Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure,
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Proficient in SolidWorks,
  • Knowledge of an LES (asset).
