What you will enjoy doing*

• You will work with minimal supervision, receiving only general guidance to develop 3D models and detailed drawings for fabrication and construction application on moderately to complex projects, performs detail design and engineering work from proposal to implementation; and serves as a technical expert within the group
• In addition, you will be responsible for creating plant layouts, detailed drawings for skid fabrication and field construction, isometric pipe spools, equipment arrangements, process piping, cold box fabrications/modifications and structural steel
• Make technical decisions based on full awareness of viability, cost, and other benefits is part of your role
• You will maintain a thorough knowledge of Linde standards, guidelines, safety and operability best practices and industry standards
• Also, you are innovative in developing, selecting, and implementing engineering techniques and solutions to solve difficult problems; anticipate problems and develop contingencies
• As Mechanical Designer lead, guiding other designers with your abilities to design, delegate, monitor and schedule project deliverables in a timely and efficient manner
• You will be the focal point for co-ordination with other disciplines (both internal and external) to deliver clear, coherent and detailed construction packages
• Responsible for checking mechanical packages to verify content, constructability and suggest improvements based on your previous project experiences

What makes you great

• You have an AAS degree with a of minimum 15 years experience in mechanical air separation plant and piping design
• Expert proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Further, you have already demonstrated ability to self-manage and prioritize work with minimal direction
• Knowledge of internal design guidelines and engineering standards, including legacy Praxair standards is preferred
• Also, you possess knowledge, application, and specification of process piping per ASME B31.3
• Excellent writing skills and interpersonal skills, ability to meet schedule deadlines, and communicate effectively
