Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a key operations leadership position that is extremely critical to the successful execution of order fulfillment requirements for stores. It is intended to provide overall coordination for the successful execution of replenishment picking on a daily basis, actively monitor overall progress and individual picker performance, and take appropriate corrective actions to ensure daily targets are met. This position will work in close collaboration with other DC leadership team members and leads from other departments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(May include but not limited to the following)

  • Reviews replenishment picking requirements on a daily basis and ensures adequate staffing is assigned to complete
  • Assists Pick Support Specialist in preparing work plan for day’s picking in advance of picker shift start, giving consideration to picking priorities versus overall capacity available
  • Continuously walks the floor maintaining a strong floor presence, monitoring performance, identifying and coaching pickers and reinforcing good performance. Monitors productivity, housekeeping, safety, compliance to SOP’s.
  • Oversees team members to pick replenishment orders accurately and productively following designated procedures
  • Monitors hourly picking UPH of individuals and overall replenishment pick progress; works with management team members on picking issues
  • Identifies issues with replenishment picking and resolves when possible or reaches out for additional help
  • Monitor/prioritize special order requests and suggested orders from the Allocation team throughout the day to ensure they are being completed on a timely manner
  • Oversees tote making and Chuck induction operation and insures smooth flow, adequate supply, good housekeeping, safety
  • Monitor battery life on chuck
  • Maintain historical UPH data current
  • Monitor Chuck pick rejects and partner with the Replenishment leads to get available product replenished from OSL to FPL
  • Partner and communicate with the slotting and replenishment team to ensure DBR generation/execution has been completed be ensure chuck % is above 99.9%
  • Maintains picking equipment and supplies to standards – i.e. picking carts, guns, tape supply, etc.
  • Assures team members are following all operational SOP’s for the picking function
  • Assures safe operation of basic warehouse material handling equipment
  • Ensures ongoing housekeeping and orderliness around control desk / tote making area and in picking aisles and ensures facility is in order at close of business
  • Communicate issues and problems that cannot be resolved immediately on a timely basis to supervisor / manager
  • Summarizes / communicates picking performance information for daily shift report
  • Coordinates and collaborates with managers, supervisors and leads from other areas to ensure resources are best deployed to meet overall DC daily priorities.
  • Identifies employees who are in need of training and coaching on picking performance or procedures and either provides needed training and coaching directly or seeks supervisor / manager / trainer assistance
  • Works in close collaboration with DC supervisors and trainers to effectively assess picker performance, particularly for new employees
  • Actively participates in daily MDI meetings, problem solving meetings, etc. by contributing information and ideas

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of:

  • How to operate Six Rivers Chucks for replenishment order picking
  • How to operate a radio frequency gun to scan license plates, SKU’s, Locations, and item descriptions
  • Safe lifting and material handling techniques in the use of common warehouse equipment
  • Warehouse concepts of inventory controls, product movement, order picking
  • HighJump system / Webwise / Six Rivers Systems knowledge
  • Label making operation

  • Lead, coach and motivate strong performance from team members. Individuals in this role must have an overall strong set of floor leadership skills, be able to give constructive feedback
  • Must be able to identify and solve operational problems and be strongly committed to the success of the business

  • Working proficiency with Excel, MS Word, Outlook for e-mail
  • Meet schedules/timelines as well as plan and organize own work
  • Work effectively as a team member
  • Able to effectively monitor performance of others and give reinforcing and corrective feedback in a positive, constructive manner

Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday 7am-5pm CST or Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm CST
