What You’ll Bring
The Lead Material Handler is responsible for assessing, acquiring, and moving material requirements in support of Production processes. This person will be expected to transport materials (Raw, finished goods and scrap) from Receiving areas to Stores to final point of use using a variety for equipment and methods. Computer system interface (input/output) will also be required. The job typically involves:
What You’ll Do- Convey materials from designated areas to/from production floor using forklift and/or other transport conveyance methods
- Communicate in team meetings in a supervisor’s absence
- Mentor and oversee a team of Material Handlers on a shift
- Prepare outgoing materials using a variety of methods and equipment, including, but not limited to, scanning, labeling, wrapping/packaging etc
- Utilize the warehouse management system to transact material ans retrieve inventory and parts data
- Asses material needs for assigned Production areas throughout the shift and pull materials using an information system to support the production schedule
- 1 year Team Lead experience in a warehouse
- 5 years experience as a Material Handler, utilizing sit down and stand up material handling equipment
- Proven warehouse leadership skills in 5S
- Proven experience in Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Viso
- WMS experience and shipping clerk experience
