Lead Machine Operator

We are looking for 1st and 2nd Shift Lead Machine Operators

This position will lead a team of Machine Operators in the safe and efficient operation of machinery in accordance with established Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure on time production which meets or exceeds established standards for quality. In addition to these leadership responsibilities, the Lead Machine Operator is responsible for operating the egg processing machine and up to 20 associated egg packaging machines. Manage the daily production plan and efficiently run the machine based on plan and available egg mix. Duties include machine & date code setup, carton inventory management and staging cartons for the day’s run.

The Lead Machine Operator will be responsible for performing the following duties and ensuring that these duties are performed by the Machine Operators assigned to his/her team.

• Check the board daily for date codes and accuracy
• Daily machine set up and clean up
• Ensure cartons are printed with correct date codes
• Coordinate production based on daily production plan, adjust as necessary during the day and communicate changes to team members
• Manage flow of eggs via computer touch screen
• Keep work area clean at all times. Clean up egg matter and other debris when time allows and always prior to any breaks
• Provide direction and leadership to other Machine Operators
• Assist co-workers as needed - teamwork
• Attend safety training, use PPE as required and put safe practices into place every day, ensuring other team members follow established rules
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety and GMP requirements at all times
• Train and mentor new team members
• Enter data into computer systems

Qualifications & Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Leadership experience in a production environment preferred
• Proficient with basic math
• Basic computer competency

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
