Lead Inventory Control Specialist at TSI

The Inventory Control Specialist performs analysis of inventory throughout the production life cycle. Ensure the accurate and secure documentation, storage, and transaction of materials and equipment. Analyze, investigate and correct inventory discrepancies.  Propose material transaction and process flow that improves efficiency and minimizes the chance for errors.  Prepare reports of results and conclusions for management. Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.

 

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Oversee job pull list for Material Handler's in the stock room.
  • Prepare backorder list, back flush list, and machine shop list.
  • Oversee Return Authorization Forms for stock returns.
  • Check "red flag" list for kanbans that are out of sequence and make any corrections.
  • Oversee kanban cards process; adjust kanban levels as directed by Planners and Buyers.
  • Conduct Cycle Counts in distribution and work centers, per standard operating procedures.
  • Perform root-cause analysis, investigate/implement corrective action, and suggest policy improvements to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Generate physical inventory documents for Material Handlers and work center leads.
  • Provide training to other Material Handlers on more complicated procedures.
  • Oversee sub-contract orders for Buyers.
  • Process MR's and assists Buyers with purchase orders.
  • Maintain the material master.
  • Process floor stock items to ship.
  • Develop solutions and determine what to do with parts pulled and placed on "WIP shelf".
  • Prepare and process materials for scrapping or for outside processing.
  • Process employee material purchases from finance department.
  • Working closely with other Leads and Team Leaders, track and resolve wrong parts picked, extra parts picked, and missing parts.
  • Provide performance feedback to Team Leader regarding other employees in the department
  • Coach and develop employees to be successful, along with helping solve employee related issues that arise.
  • Act as a "change agent" for the department.
  • Update daily & monthly department performance reports.
  • Update QMS processes as applicable.

 

 

What Do You Need?
Required

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

  • Ability to adequately perform duties and responsibilities of Material Handler III position
  • Minimum 4-5 years of distribution, inventory, and stockroom experience
  • 4 years ERP Inventory Control and analysis experience.  SAP preferred.
  • MS Excel spreadsheets, graphs and charts.

  • Strong computer skills using Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint, SAP/ERP
  • Competent in problem identification and problem solving

  • Proven ability to work as a strong team member
