Ensuring Food Safety
Cross-training in all technician positions within the Quality Assurance department
Assisting QA Supervisor in scheduling to ensure coverage in all areas
Monitoring critical control points, preventive measures, procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures
Assisting with decision-making, problem-solving, and follow-up on deviations occurring on the production floor
Preparing quality documentation and reports
Identifying, segregating, and documenting non-conforming products in compliance with the QA hold system
Monitoring the sample retention system
Assisting in training and coaching new hires
Supporting the implementation of quality/Food Safety programs
Conducting equipment inspections before start-up and managing laboratory inventory
Performing preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment
Enhancing the department's and organization's reputation through ownership of new or different requests
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-4 years in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role in food manufacturing or a relevant degree.
Working knowledge of testing equipment in food manufacturing laboratories.
Analytical skills and strategic planning.
Ability to handle complexity with great attention to detail.
Proficiency in interpreting documents and learning database systems.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and navigate uneven surfaces/stairs.
