Position Summary:
This position provides financial analysis and strategic support to our Global Content Partnerships & Media group. This individual will partner with the department to achieve short- and long-term financial goals, build and track progress to business plans, and provide financial guidance on strategic initiatives and partnerships for the league. The ideal candidate can build strong relationship with business partners to influence decision-making and achieve desired financial outcomes.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the annual 3-year business plan, including revenue build, staffing plans, capital expenditures, cash flow estimates and new investment opportunities, as well as drive the current year projection process. Collaborate with multiple finance and business partners to ensure alignment on financial objectives.
- Review and approve new Content revenue deals and provide analytical support for deal team. Advise on financial related terms in contracts, optimize financial deal structures and act as primary liaison between the business and finance sub-groups (such as Accounting, Tax, Treasury). Once a deal is signed, this role is responsible for ensuring proper financial reporting and accounting requirements are completed.
- Develop an expertise on Content revenues in order to be responsive to reporting and analysis requests from senior management, finance and business partners.
- Analyze and present monthly results, communicating key business drivers and insights to senior management. Identify areas of opportunity and risk and work alongside department leaders to mitigate those risks and seek efficiencies
- Develop financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives and key renewals.
- Support the month-end close process to ensure proper revenue recognition and accruals of expenses.
- Partner with Accounting and Labor Finance to support multiple year end audits.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis for Finance and supported groups as needed.
Required Education/Professional Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related business field.
- MBA is a plus
- 8+ years' experience in FP&A, corporate strategy, or related field.
- Sport, Media or Events experience is a plus.
Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:
- Strong financial modeling skills/Excel skills with the ability to add value by applying analytical and business fundamentals to analysis.
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Knowledge of Adaptive Insights & OfficeConnect is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence outcome and demonstrated agent of change.
- Able to think strategically, multitask and meet deadlines, all with attention to detail
- Able to work directly with high level executives within a large organization
Salary Range: $150,000 - $165,000
