Job Summary
The incumbent provides lead direction for a designated group of parking officers. The incumbent serves as the primary contact for the university in providing parking information and directions to campus constituents in the field. This may include services such as welcoming individuals to the campus, providing parking assistance, battery jumps, locating lost vehicles, providing directions and pay station or park mobile application assistance. In addition, protects the fiscal integrity of the Parking Program and promotes the safe operation of the parking facilities through the issuance of parking citations to vehicles parked in violation of State Law or campus parking regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Parking Enforcement - Patrols the campus parking areas on foot or in a vehicle for the purpose of issuing citations to vehicles parked in violation of the California Vehicle Code, Education Code, or applicable CSU LB parking regulations.
- Leads Parking Officers - Assigns Parking Officers, daily Parking Officer I duties to provide service to community and ensures shifts are reflected in Events Management System (EMS) as needed.
- Community and visitor interactions - As the first point of contact provides a high level of customer service to campus constituents in the field. This may include services such as welcoming individuals to the campus, providing parking assistance, battery jumps, locating lost vehicles, providing directions and pay station or park mobile application assistance.
- Traffic Control & Special Event Parking - Provides traffic assistance throughout the campus in heavily congested areas (parking lots and roadways) due to construction zones, special project s, road closures, campus activities (not entered as events), accidents, and campus emergencies.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must be able to write at appropriate level for classification. Must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with all segments of the campus community. Must have sufficient strength to independently lift and move various barricades and parking control devices. Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively, and to determine a proper course of action to be taken. Maintains a safe work environment and communicates with the University community in a civil manner. Knowledge of operational procedures for technical equipment such as: pick-up trucks, permit dispenser machines, and alternate transportation vehicles (electric carts)
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a high school diploma and two years of related experience required.
Physical Summary
- Medium work - Job involves lifting heavy-weight objects (20-40 pounds) and/or 20% - 40% of the job involves standing, squatting, kneeling, or walking. May require pushing or pulling objects within the weight limits.
Licenses / Certificates
Must be 18 years of age, possess a valid Class C California Driver's License, and operate a pickup truck.
Must be eligible to qualify for a State of California Driver's Certificate, which requires producing a copy of a current Department of Motor Vehicle driving record printout.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3,613 - $4,701 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,613 - $5,672 per month.

Time Base
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
