Job Summary
Arning Companies is looking for an in-house Lead CAD drafter/detailer, with experience in industrial steel projects, who can convert custom orders into detailed shop drawings using computer aided design software. You would be expected to provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, as well as contribute to the design and development of new products and features. A lead engineer must also ensure that engineering processes are followed, and product quality is maintained. You would work with designers, project managers and fabricators detailing every aspect of the kiosk layout in preparation for manufacturing.
This person would be responsible for:
- Leading a team, a detailers to oversee smooth and efficient production of drawings.
- Develop and detail prints based on customer design drawings and translate those to usable shop prints.
- Create job packets that include necessary information for the job to be processed on the shop floor (Quality Control documentation, shipping lists, etc.).
- Ensure a high level of accuracy on all projects, resulting in no rework for the Operations department.
- Gain a full understanding of the estimating process and scope of work being estimated.
- Create purchase requisitions for each processed job in a timely manner.

- Min of two years’ experience in steel and concrete structural detailing and shop drawings using AutoCAD and/or Solidworks software
- Experience in drafting shop drawings and other work documentation for metal fabrication, fitting and welding, blasting and painting, and inspection is required.
- Knowledge of steel fabrication and construction
- Familiarity with MS office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects.
- Strong technical and problem solving skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Hourly: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
