The Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP) supports clients in the community, in their homes, and supports the Program Manager for the residential program. They support individuals as needed in daily living activities such as personal and health management, communication, self-advocacy, realizing personal and educational goals, safety, recreation, and decision making. The LDSP supports the Program Manager with training new employees, staffing and daily operations; and is the point person on shift when the Program Manager isn’t onsite or available.
Responsibilities:
· Supports the Program Manager with training, staffing and daily operations.
· Is the point person when the Program Manager isn’t available.
· Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting.
· Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
· Create a safe and clean environment for residents by performing cleaning tasks.
· Implement behavior support plans and strategies to promote positive behaviors.
· Advocate for residents’ rights and ensure their dignity and privacy are respected.
· Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and resident progress.
· Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including social workers, nurses and therapists.
· Complete required training.
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Have the ability and desire to be in a supporting and leadership role.
· Must be comfortable using a computer for documentation and training.
· This position requires compassion, patience, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
· Must have experience supporting individuals with challenging behavior.
· Must be flexible.
· Must be reliable and dependable.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or the equivalent.
· One to two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities is required.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Other Requirements:
· Must be able to do job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
· Must be CPR, Food Handler and Level C OIS certified or be willing to complete the training when hired.
· Must complete all required training including annual training.
· Must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds at times and bend down or squat.
· Must be able to walk up and down stairs when needed.
· Must be available to work assigned shift and have reliable transportation.
· Current Oregon Driver License
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
