The J&J Supply Chain Digital and Data Science (D&DS) Organization is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of our patients and customers through the development and implementation of scalable digital and data science solutions. Our team is structured around four critical functional pillars: Data Science, Data & Software Engineering, Data Management, and Digital Identification & Traceability.
Joining the D&DS team offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with colleagues who bring diverse expertise from various industries and esteemed academic and research institutions.
As a Lead Data Scientist focusing on MLOps and broad Deep and Classical Machine Learning projects, you will work with all collaborators to build an aligned digital product and technology strategy which anchors product-led transformation and integrated digital stack for leverage, reusability, modularity and cost effectiveness. In addition, you will:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead data science, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) projects
- Develop and maintain MLOps pipeline and Deep and Classical ML models
- Implement close-to-production codes written in Python
- Open to explore other ML domains such as Reinforcement Learning (RL), Forecasting, Generative/Diffusion Models and other innovative techniques
Qualifications
Education:
- PhD or MS in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related technical/scientific field
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- PhD with 2+ or MS with 4+ years of proven experience
- Strong hands-on experience in the Bash scripting and Python toolkit for data manipulation and machine learning (e.g., NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Highly skilled in the implementation, fine-tuning and transfer learning, statistical, classical and deep learning models
- Self-motivated with proven problem-solving and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- PhD with +2 years of working experience on healthcare projects
- Prior research publications (conferences and journals) in healthcare
- Familiarity with cloud computing and infrastructure (Azure, Databricks, AWS)
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Open to explore advance areas in data science and ML such as reinforcement learning, adversarial learning and diffusion models
Salary
For US based candidates, the base pay range for this position is $123,250 USD to $166,750 USD. Some U.S. states have recently instituted certain pay transparency disclosure requirements.
Bonus
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
